I am a Ugandan Social/Environmental Activist, Entrepreneur, Founder of Munansi Green Initiative, Group Leader working group of the Uganda Permaculture Consortium. I have been involved in community based projects to up lift the youth; like adventure cycling, mountaineering, hiking, camping; where I have used these adventure based activities to positively impact and change the lives of the youth in Uganda and the East African region in general.
I perceive myself as a person with numerous interests and a range of skills. While studying a dual degree in Bachelors of Business Administration in International Business from Nilai University and Oxford Brookes University; I realized that more had to done hence my advocacy journey started, “being an Activist affords me the opportunity to utilize these skills I have and also it provides a challenge to grow myself”. Strategic planning, formulation, and implementation are my strong suites. Am always keen to build on my interest in representing and advocating for the youth. Am expecting to attain and build more on my leadership/advocacy skills at every level.
As the team lead at Munansi Green Initiative, a Ugandan community-based NGO focused on combating the effects of climate change, is a youth-led, grassroots, non-partisan, non-sectarian, non-tribalistic, non-racial and non-discriminatory; Civil Society Organization. That grew out of the need to promote access to clean environment as prerequisite for the full enjoyment of human rights and sustainable development. Through promoting environmental conservation and mitigation of the impact of climate change through community education, sensitization and empowerment, restoration and protection of endangered ecosystems and inspiring a generation of Youth-Community Leaders and Environmental Defenders who are Pro-Environment. I believe this opportunity will provide me with the necessary skills and knowledge to further our mission.
At Munansi Green Initiative, I have been leading various projects aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and combating the effects of climate change in our local community. Through these efforts, I have gained a deep appreciation for the importance of addressing climate change and the need for collective action at all levels.
I have helped create positive change in different ways but to be specific it’s when I was involved with a team of youth in August 2015 from a youth led organization known as CampFire Logs Guild, were we organized a 300km hike to create awareness about environment protection and conservation from Mbarara to Entebbe with various partners like The Uganda Wild Life Education Centre (UWEC), Tress For The Future, Angeo Expression, and Urban TV.
I have also been involved in The Great African Cycling Safari (GACS) an adventure cycling based project to create awareness and to carry a key message to the people of East Africa about the integration process, climate change, food security, clean water, sanitation and hygiene and also to share their thoughts and knowledge about the East African Community and the whole process of integration. Writing reports and recommendation for the East African Community Parliament which has contributed to positive changes in the region like the introduction of the East African Community Passport for which I have received a lot of recognition and accolades within the region; with cover stories appearing in the East African Magazine on July 9th-15th 2016, September 24th -30th 2016, and May 13th -19th 2017.
I also volunteer as a Social/Environmental Advisor to Mubende Municipal and various organizations like Fridays for Future, Rotary Club, Campfire Logs Guild, Million Trees International, FlipTown, and Outbox. At Munansi Green Initiative I was part of the team that tried to beat the world of planting 500 Million trees in 24 hours in Mubende Municipality, however due to the COVID-19/lockdown restrictions the team managed to plant only 10,000 trees. I have also participate in the Municipal Climate Partnerships project at COP26 at the side event show casing a nature based solution model for climate change and biodiversity adaptation and mitigation agenda.

I come from a country that has a youth population over 70%. Over the years I have seen the youths go through different challenges from environmental, economic, political, and social and health. These challenges plus a passion for social advancement has given me the driving force and the will to take on activities and entrepreneurship which now have evolved into my passion especially when a project I execute is successful and at least impacts someone’s life.
My plan and desire is to increase social advancements that are driven by my goals in life. Without these goals in my life there's would be no way for me to bring about social impact in my society. These goals have enabled me to strive to make my society a better one than it was yesterday. Furthermore they show how far I have come and what more I need to be do in my society.
I believe that learning is a continuous process through which I seek knowledge through my activism and entrepreneurial work. The more I learn, the more I have to implement what I have learnt and I believe through this I will be able to impact the lives of the people in my society and the world at large. Whatever I have learnt or intend to learn, I share with my counterparts and through this I believe change will come about. Public service is my major goal through which I aim to make the society a better place through gaining new strategies. This is a long term goal whose results or impact I believe are long term and sustainable and will have a huge impact on a lot of people's lives.
I am passionate about addressing the challenges posed by global warming and the sustainable use of resources. I believe that multilateralism and international diplomacy are essential in finding solutions to these critical issues and that the Climate Diplomacy Academy will provide a platform to enhance my understanding of the role of climate diplomacy in building more responsive climate action at all levels. Attending the Climate Diplomacy Academy will not only benefit me personally but also the work of Munansi Green Initiative. I am confident that the skills and knowledge I will gain from this experience will help me to effectively advocate for more responsive climate action and improve our efforts to combat the effects of climate change.
